Our Volunteers undergo a comprehensive training program approved by Hospice Palliative Care Ontario (HPCO).
In-class training is held at Circle of Care at 4211 Yonge St #401, Toronto, Ontario, M2P 2A9, easily accessible by subway or bus.
Typically, the sessions (modules) take place on Mondays and Thursdays, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and run for about four weeks. Volunteers are offered training in the Fall and Winter, and at other times throughout the year either online or with other trainers. Completion of all units is mandatory. Volunteers are awarded a Certificate following completion of all training modules.
The expectation is that Volunteers are able to commit to their Client and Caregiver for up to four hours per week, for a length of time mutually agreed to by the Client and the Volunteer. Upon successful completion of the training program, we are confident that Volunteers are ready to be matched with Clients.
The training received provides each trainee with the confidence and needed skills to effectively support Clients and Caregivers.
The next training session – Fall 2018 – will be starting on Monday October 15, 2018. Please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or
