The Volunteers of Hazel Burns Hospice are the backbone of our organization. Without their wonderful support, Hazel Burns Hospice would not be able to provide the great services to our Clients.
Our trained Volunteers visits our Clients in their homes and provide emotional, social, spiritual and practical support. Volunteers visit the Client once a week for three to four hours. Volunteers engage in such activities as playing cards, watching movies, going for walks, accompanying to appointments and in some cases, legacy work.
The In-home Volunteer program provides respite for Caregivers, to ensure that Caregivers are taking care of themselves and do not burnout. This program is also a companionship for the Client. This one-on-one support allows the Client and the Volunteer to build a relationship based on trust in a safe and warm environment.
